Recently we had that confusing time when we turned our clocks back.. Nature has a rhythm that continues on despite human efforts to make it our own. There is a time to order seeds, a time to plant beets and a time to harvest sage. Although the pace in the country can be more relaxed than in the city we understand nature's schedules. You may talk to the guy down the road about the hole in the roof if you see him " the first of the week" but the fence to keep the coyotes out of the field must be put up today. This revelation is sometimes confusing to those new to country living. It's when you surrender to this rhythm that you find yourself pulled more and more into these wonderful patterns that define "living with nature in the country".
Winter is a time of reflection looking forward to renewal so it is the perfect time to launch a new website. It is our hope to connect all aspects of life at Tansy Lane through a blog with links to Facebook and event pages. And so as I embark on this renewal I am excited to share with friends my observations gained through late night research or while picking rhubarb. While living so close to the earth one becomes aware that all is not well with our relationship to our environment. In a time when we need to re-educate ourselves about our status with the earth there is a wish to bring into the fore with this blog many of the issues prevalent in our daily lives.
