Tansy Lane Herb Farm is a unique destination close to Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick. A visit to Tansy lane Herb Farm is to step back in time. Owner, Carole Coleman has turned her retirement into a search for the past when her family lived on the Fundy shores since the early 1800's.
During that time generations of women in her family gathered the wild flowers, and herbs on the shore, in the fields and in the woods. In the days before pharmacies, the healing properties of these plants were used to nurture their loved ones.
Now Carole is continuing the connections of these wild and heritage plants to healing with her herbal and medicinal products. The healing creams and salves are made the same way the pioneer women would have made them. Bottles of tinctures and infused oils line the shelves beside jars of wild crafted herbs and naturally grown plants. They complement the other body care products all made with pure natural ingredients and essential oils.
Part of any east coast woman's skills was using the local fruit in preserving for the long winter months. The shelves at Tansy Lane shine like jewels as the sun coming through the window reflects on the many fruit jellies such as rose petal, rhubarb, cranberry and many others. Traditional jams of blueberry, raspberry and strawberry bring back fond childhood memories to many who sample them.
